Illumination Street – a chance for everyone to shine

Spread the love

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and here at Illumination Street, we want to celebrate the incredible work that goes into lighting up home fronts for the whole neighbourhood to enjoy! Through our national competition, we aim to reward these spectacular demonstrations of Christmas cheer with cash prizes up for grabs, and anyone to could be a winner. So let’s get to know the competition categories that could win you big over the festive season.

Bigger the better.

When it comes to the ‘Best Front Garden Large Outdoor Display’ category, if your attitude towards Christmas is ‘Go big or go home’… this is the category for you. If you model your front garden on the McCallister House from ‘Home Alone’, then we want to hear from you. Whether you do it for charity, or just for fun, we want to see your sparkling masterpieces and hear your story.

Less is more

For the ‘Best Front Garden Small Outdoor Display’ category, if you’re a firm believer that “Less is more”, and your front garden display suggests that, we want to see it in all its miniature, modest glory. You don’t have to have 20 ice skating penguins on your front lawn to enter the Illumination street competition and WIN big. Homes with one beautifully-lit tree, a small nativity on the lawn, or even some inflatable reindeer, reinforce that good things come in small packages… so the saying goes.

Knock Knock, who’s there?

The ‘Best Front Door Display’ category: whether it’s a single wreath, or whether people think they’re entering Santa’s grotto, we want to see your front doors decked out. Even if it’s the only thing that’s decorated on the front of your house, it could WIN you cash prizes. Let us in and send us your entry.

For the Kid’s

The ‘Best Children’s Window’ category is the perfect opportunity to get the kids involved in the competition. Whether the decorations are handmade, or store-bought, we want to see what you’ve created. Is there a theme or is it a free-for-all? Lighting or snow effects, or even both? Let us see what you’ve been doing… Christmas is a time for the whole family after all.

Group Effort

When it comes to categories like the ‘Best Community Christmas Display’, it’s all about the people. What’s great about illumination Street is how the campaign witnesses how Christmas can bring communities together. Whether it’s neighbours coordinating their Christmas lights, or the street you live on pulling together to put on a great display for the kids, if this sounds like you and your neighbours - or you run a community centre or garden that has created an outdoor or indoor display – you can enter the Illumination Street competition and bring a little Christmas cash to your community this year.

If you’ve read this and thought “That’s me!!”, register your displays and fill out an Entry Form today!
